Larry Worster“The Doctor is In”: “Dr. Larry” Worster
After a career performing as a guitarist and teaching music history at Metro State, “Dr. Larry” is pursuing his lifelong dream of becoming a teaching golf professional in his encore career. He began his golf studies under Leonard five years ago and has been teaching at Leonards since 2004. This year, he qualified as a PGA Apprentice. His philosophy of golf instruction is to teach the whole person, addressing the five areas of the game throughout the student’s course of study: full swing, short game swing, putter stroke, mental preparation, and course management.

Dr. Larry’s Tip:
Fall in love with developing your game and make your practice count! How long can you make a bucket of range balls last? Take your time and enjoy yourself. Approach each shot with a plan. Take a practice swing with your current drill or a single swing thought in mind. Hit one ball with your drill. Step back. Refocus, take a practice swing, and hit a second ball with your natural swing, noticing the effects of your practice on the resulting shot. Step back, breathe, and repeat. When you are tired, take a break! Clean your clubs! Talk to other players on the range who are taking their breaks.
